Privacy policy

Tobias is a personal assistant used by a single person, its owner and developer. It is not offered to the public. This policy explains what Tobias does with Google user data.

Who uses Tobias

Only the owner. The only Google account ever connected to Tobias is the owner's own.

What Google data Tobias accesses, and why

If the owner links Google Assistant to the owner's Home Assistant, Google receives only the names and on/off state of the smart-home devices the owner chose to share, so it can control them by voice.

How the data is used

Google user data is used only for Tobias's own features, for the owner. It is never sold, never shared with anyone else, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.

The data stays in the owner's own system: it is processed on the owner's own computer and, where it needs to be stored at all, kept in a database on that computer. The one exception is answering the owner's own questions: when the owner asks Tobias's assistant something, the relevant text (for example, today's calendar events) is sent to the AI service that powers it (Anthropic's Claude API) for that request only.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Tobias's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs, including its read and write access to Google Calendar, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Keeping and deleting data

Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When access is revoked, Tobias can no longer read or change anything in the owner's Google account, and the owner can delete anything Tobias stored from their own computer.
